The New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils have completed a trade, with the Islanders sending defenseman Dennis Cholowski to the Devils for forward Adam Beckman.

The New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Dennis Cholowski from the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Adam Beckman. The 27-year-old Cholowski split his 2024-25 season with the Islanders, scoring three goals and seven assists for 10 points,

The Avalanche sent top prospect Calum Ritchie to the Islanders in the deal, as well as a future first-round pick.

The Islanders are working on a new Kyle Palmieri contract after trading Brock Nelson at the NHL trade deadline.

The New York Islanders have already made a big move on Thursday, as they have sent Brock Nelson along with William Dufour to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Calum Ritchie, Oliver Kylington, a pair of first-round picks (2026 and 2027) and a conditional pick in the third round of the 2028 NHL draft.
