Southeast Michigan faces the highest risk with downbursts capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 MPH and the potential for localized flooding from slow-moving storms.

Several rounds of storms are set to move through Mid-Michigan today and tomorrow, some of which could be severe. Early morning storms on Friday will dry up in the early afternoon. Additional storms are possible Friday evening which could continue into the overnight hours.

Officials are concerned about extreme weather and potential cuts to forecasting and federal emergency funding.
