The prime minister was grilled by the leader of the opposition after his chancellor delivered a major speech on growth.

In a post on X, leader of the opposition Kemi Badenoch welcomed Keir Starmer's announcement of a public inquiry - but said "Labour must not use it to hide behind their own failings". "There remain serious questions about the transparency of government information at the time of the unrest that followed these horrific killings," Badenoch wrote.
