Thousands of people were leaving the Greek island of Santorini by sea and air for a third day on Tuesday, as an unprecedented series of earthquakes shook the top travel destination.
Greece was hit by as many as 550 earthquakes. Although Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called on the residents of Santorini to remain calm, people are currently fleeing the island in panic.
A significant earthquake in the area could not only pose a direct threat to residents but also have severe economic implications for Greece's tourism sector.
