Showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds Wednesday followed by snow make it a First Alert Weather Day, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team. Most of the overnight rain has moved out but showers will still fall intermittently throughout the day as temperatures plunge from a high in the mid-50s late Wednesday morning into the upper 20s but feel like the teens by early Thursday.

A Level 2 Slight risk of severe weather is in place from Tallahassee to Thomasville and back to the west (yellow). For areas to the east, a Level 1 Marginal risk is in place (green). Storms should weaken as they move east. The greater severe weather threat will stay in the Level 3 Enhanced risk for the Florida Panhandle and into Alabama (orange).

Storm chances are also in the forecast before 9 a.m. as a system moves easterly through our region with winds elevated throughout the day.
