In an NXT Exclusive, Kelly Kincaid interviewed Spears following his win and noted that he took advantage of an injured man to do it, as D'Angelo hurt his back.

Tonight, Shawn Spears has the chance to win the first championship of his WWE NXT career. The Men’s North American title will be on the line as Spears challenges Tony D’Angelo for the belt. They have been at odds recently with Spears leading a new faction — consisting of Brooks Jensen, Niko Vance & Izzi Dame — against the D’Angelo Family.
