Mike Brown, the new head coach of the New York Knicks, is reportedly expected to hire a new associate head coach and demote Rick Brunson from that position and into a "lesser" role, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

Jalen Brunson's father, who has been an assistant coach with the Knicks since his son signed with the team in 2022, will see his role change with a new regime in place. According to the New York Post's Stefan Bondy, Brown is set to hire a new associate head coach, which will reduce Brunson's role.

Last season, the Knicks made the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years. Although the Knicks’ depth wasn’t often utilized in the regular season, Delon Wright played a key role for New York, especially as a backcourt defender, throughout the playoffs.
