Gavin McKenna said he is committing to Penn State in a highly anticipated decision by one of the most highly projected NHL-caliber prospects since Connor McDavid’s draft year in 2015.

Gavin McKenna, the projected top pick in the 2026 NHL draft, will spend the 2025-26 season playing for Penn State.

McKenna, 17, is a 6-foot and 170-pound winger who played the past two seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League. He’s the reigning CHL Player of the Year after scoring a whopping 41 goals and 88 assists in 56 games.
