Adrian Houser tossed a season-high eight innings, Edgar Quero hit his first major league home run, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Colorado Rockies 3-2 in Denver on Friday night.

In the top of the fourth inning, consecutive singles by Andrew Benintendi and Miguel Vargas put two on with nobody out for Chicago. After moving to third and second base, respectively, on Brooks Baldwin’s sacrifice bunt, Benintendi and Vargas were joined on the basepaths by Edgar Quero, who walked to load them up for Colson Montgomery.

Houser lowered his ERA to a razor-thin 1.90 across seven starts since joining the Sox, looking like a player who could net Chris Getz something at the trade deadline.
