As expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers have tendered an offer to Jaylen Warren, a former undrafted rookie who has proven to be a productive NFL running back. By tendering Warren, the Steelers have the right to retain him by matching any offer sheet he would sign with another team.

According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Harris spent his 27th birthday on Sunday saying goodbye to people within the Steelers organization while preparing for the uncertainty of free agency. It’s not a done deal that he’s leaving, but the signs are there.

The Steelers have not shut the door on Harris returning at a reduced price, but it is hard to see the running back landing that type of deal from Pittsburgh in such a deep draft class. On top of that, the team has Jaylen Warren, who is someone they trust and will lean on next year.
