OpenAI said on Tuesday it will develop artificial intelligence products for South Korea with chat app operator Kakao , unveiling a second major alliance with a high-profile Asian partner this week.

SoftBank inked a $3 billion deal with OpenAI in a joint venture to market OpenAI tech in Japan with its newly-minuted "Cristal Intelligence" suite of tools.

SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Son on Monday said he has agreed with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to set up a joint venture in Japan to offer artificial intelligence services to corporate customers.

The 50-50 joint venture will begin offering the services first in Japan and establish a model for global adoption, the companies said Monday.
