CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Friday is a First Alert Weather Day due to rain that will impact driving, according to the FOX19 NOW Weather Team. The heaviest rain has moved out of the viewing area but watch for light showers to linger for the morning commute. Temperatures will be mild this weekend and start on Friday.

It’s been a wet start to the day, with more than a quarter inch of rain already recorded, and with steady rainfall expected through the evening commute, a decent amount of accumulation is likely. The rain will begin tapering off in the early evening, transitioning to scattered showers across the metro, valleys, and coast by Saturday.

An unusually strong low-pressure system will pass north of the state Wednesday night, bringing the threat of heavy rain, damaging winds, and thunderstorms.
