Amanda Anisimova collapsed flat on her face in sheer relief after she survived an astonishing and unexpected fightback from Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to secure a 6-1 7-6(9) victory and reach the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time.

The win marks the farthest Anisimova has advanced at Wimbledon during her career. She previously reached the quarterfinals back in 2022, where she lost to Simona Halep. The win also matches Anisimova's best performance at a Grand Slam. The only other time she reached the semifinals came in the 2019 French Open, where she lost to Ashleigh Barty.
